Icon of the Seas
Icon of the Seas groups younger-family water play and food in Surfside, with larger slides and sports at Thrill Island. Family cabin layouts, the adults-only Hideaway pool and shows on water, ice and stage give different members of a group their own priorities aboard.

Start with how your family expects to use the ship, then compare the cabin's view and bathroom layout. Many meals, activities and regular shows are included, while specialty dining, drinks, nursery care and private-access benefits need their own checks.
Surfside and Thrill Island Serve Different Days
Surfside puts younger-family activities together: Splashaway Bay water play, Baby Bay, a carousel, Playscape and nearby included food. Water's Edge Pool gives the family another place to spend time close to that activity. This layout lets you pause for a snack or a swim without crossing the ship between every stop.
Thrill Island has a different emphasis. Category 6 offers body and raft waterslides, with height and weight limits that vary by slide. Its admission is included, as are the FlowRider surf simulator, Adrenaline Peak climbing wall and Lost Dunes mini-golf. Each activity has its own participation rules.
Royal Bay provides a larger shared pool setting. Adults can head to The Hideaway for a suspended infinity pool and a beach-club atmosphere with a DJ. Pool access does not include cocktails or other bar purchases, and private suite pool areas have separate access conditions.
Choose the View and the Family Layout
A balcony overlooking Surfside or Central Park gives a different view from one facing the ocean. Infinite Balcony rooms use an expanded living area that opens at the push of a button. Compare that arrangement with a conventional outdoor balcony before choosing your room.
Family Infinite Ocean View Balcony rooms add a separate bunk space and a split bathroom. Surfside Family Suites also have a split bathroom and a children's nook, with views into the neighborhood. These details can matter more to a family sharing one room than the word “suite” alone.
Suite benefits follow the booked Royal Suite Class tier. A Surfside Family Suite is Sea Class, with Coastal Kitchen dinner subject to availability and reservations. Access to The Grove suite sundeck belongs to qualifying Sky and Star bookings. Check the exact category before counting on a private pool, lounge or all-day suite dining.
Included Food Is Spread Across the Ship
The Main Dining Room and Windjammer provide included meals, while Surfside Eatery and Surfside Bites keep casual choices near the family activities. AquaDome Market offers food-hall options, and Pearl Café supplies sandwiches, salads and sweets. You can plan a day around these venues without adding a specialty meal.
Specialty restaurants, including Chops Grille and Izumi, add separate dining costs. Milkshakes at Desserted and other premium treats also require payment. Some menus at otherwise included venues have supplements, so check the item rather than relying only on the restaurant's inclusion label.
Brewed coffee, tea and ice water are among the included drinks in complimentary dining venues. Soda, bottled water, specialty coffees and alcohol require a purchase or applicable package. Free admission to a music lounge does not make its drinks complimentary.
Youth Clubs and Shows on Water, Ice and Stage
Adventure Ocean provides included regular activities for children ages 3–12, with toilet-training requirements for participation. Social020 is the teen space for ages 13–17. Royal Babies & Tots nursery care and late-night youth care carry separate charges; check registration and availability before planning an adults' evening.
The AquaTheater hosts high-diving water shows, Absolute Zero provides ice performances, and the Royal Theater adds stage productions. Regular shows are included, though reservations may be needed. Dueling Pianos and Lou's Jazz 'n Blues offer other ways to spend an evening. Use the Royal Caribbean app to check performances, admission ages and reservation details.
